Common Chat Scams and How to Avoid Them

Nov 4, 2026 · AzamanChat team

Scammers use the same few stories again and again. When you know them, they stop working on you.

The fake emergency

A message from a friend or relative says they are stuck and need money right now. Often their account was hacked. Call them on a normal phone call or video call before sending anything.

The romance scam

A stranger becomes very close very fast, then asks for money for a ticket, medical bill or business problem. Real partners do not ask for money from someone they have never met.

The prize or job offer

You are told you won something or got a job, but you must pay a fee first. Real prizes and jobs do not ask you to pay to receive them.

The code request

Someone says they sent a code to your number by mistake and asks you to read it back. That code is the key to your account. Never share it.

The fake link

A message urges you to click a link to claim a reward or fix your account. The page looks real but steals your password. Type the website address yourself instead.

What to do if you were scammed

Stop sending money, keep screenshots, change your passwords, block and report the person, and tell your bank if you paid. Do not feel ashamed. These people are professionals.
