How to Save Mobile Data While Chatting, Calling and Watching Lives

Nov 4, 2026 · AzamanChat team

Data is not cheap, and nobody likes seeing a bundle disappear in one day. The good news is that you can chat, call and enjoy live streams while spending much less.

Know what uses the most data

Text messages use almost nothing. Voice notes use a little. Photos use more, and video calls and live streams use the most. If your bundle is small, use text and voice most of the time and save video for special moments.

Use Wi-Fi when you can

At home, school or work, connect to Wi-Fi for long video calls and live streams. Remember to switch back to mobile data only when you leave.

Choose voice instead of video

A voice call uses far less data than a video call and works better on weak networks. You can still hear the person's tone and laugh together.

Watch lives in short bursts

A live stream is like a continuous video. If you are using a bundle, watch the parts you care about and leave when you are done instead of leaving it running in the background.

Check your phone data settings

Your phone can show which apps use the most data. Turn off background data for apps you do not need, and switch off automatic video playing in other apps.

Use the data saver mode

Both Android and iPhone have a data saver or low data mode. It reduces background use so that your bundle lasts longer.

Download updates on Wi-Fi

Big app and system updates should wait until you are on Wi-Fi. You can set your phone to update only on Wi-Fi.
